“Shifter” was created using a very large piece of linoleum block, oil ink, and many extra hands to burnish using Japanese block-printing methods.
Two large prints on Japanese mulberry paper were printed, one as the base layer and one to be ripped up into pieces as overlaying tiles that resemble train station signs that change information with rapid clacking fluttering.
