During a stop in Kaupo on my way to Hana, I wandered down from the Huialoha church to the rocky shores where I found a flock of Koa’e Ula dancing above. I hadn’t planned on being there for long but I always wanted to meet the Koa’e Ula in person so rather than rushing I laid on the warm stones and watched. This piece is my attempt to share my mental photos from that beloved moment with others.
